Acronyms Meanings
AF = Aunt Flo - Your menstrual period
BB's = Breasts (i.e., My BB's are sore, I hope that is a sign of pregnancy)
BBT = Basal Body Temperature - Your temperature taken first thing in the morning before any activity and after at least three hours of uninterrupted sleep.
BCP = Birth Control Pills
BD = Baby Dancing- Having sex (i.e., "I told my partner I wanted to baby dance tonight")
BF= Breastfeeding
BFP = Big Fat Positive (when taking an HPT)
BFN = Big Fat Negative (when taking an HPT)
BIL = Brother-In-Law
BM= Breastmilk
BRU= Babies R Us
CD = Cycle Day - The first day of your period is cycle day 1.
CM = Cervical Mucus changes throughout the cycle, becoming of thinner, clearer consistency as ovulation approaches. It is most easily found when you are using the rest room and wipe with white toilet paper. You probably notice CM on the toilet paper. A very good time to check is after a bowel movement, because that action pushes CM to the vaginal opening. The rubbery gummy type usually precedes EWCM (see below). Place the mucus between two fingers, and separate the fingers to detect how stretchy and fertile your CM is becoming. Some women who do not have noticeable CM do "reach for it," meaning they insert two fingers into the vagina to detect CM at the cervical opening.

E/P = Ectopic Pregnancy- (Tubal Pregnancy) - a pregnancy where the fertilized egg implants elsewhere other than the uterus and must be removed by surgery
EWCM = Egg White Cervical Mucus - The most fertile type of cervical fluid a woman produces. It typically resembles raw egg white and tends to be clear, slippery and stretchy. It usually appears in the two to three days preceding ovulation.
FET = Frozen Embryo Transfer
FIL = Father-In-Law
GD= Gestational Diabetes
HB = Heartbeat
HPT = Home Pregnancy Test
HSG = Hysterosalpingogram - a test done by a radiologist to check for blockage of the fallopian tubes.
IF- Infertility
IUI = Intrauterine Insemination
IVF = In-Vitro Fertilization

LOL = Laughing Out Loud
LP = Luteal Phase - The second half of your cycle from ovulation to the day before your period starts. It is the "constant" part of the cycle, being 14 days in most women. The follicular phase varies and differentiates a woman with a 28-day cycle from a woman with a 31-day cycle.
