I hope that you are enjoying our heat wave that is passing through. Today is just perfect weather wise. I got the form that you recently mailed. I just wanted to let you know that and just to touch base with you. Keep me informed. Have a good day.

Good to hear from you. We joined our church last Sunday and are attending the new member’s class this Sunday morning. We are also attending a Sunday school party tonight that we are really excited about. I believe that I told you our preacher adopted from China. I asked him Sunday if any members have adopted bi-racial children and he led me to a couple that is adopting an African American baby in March I believe. They are the ones who invited us to the Sunday school party. Come to find out this class is composed of couples who are or have suffered with infertility. It seems like the perfect class for us so we are excited. I also wanted to share with you this journal entry I wrote after we joined our church.
How I’m like Jonah
It's funny how the Lord works sometimes isn't it?
Yesterday we went to our church to join. We have been attending this church for quite some time but have never joined. Yesterday the preacher preached on Jonah.
1 But Jonah was greatly displeased and became angry. 2 He prayed to the LORD, "O LORD, is this not what I said when I was still at home? That is why I was so quick to flee to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. 3 Now, O LORD, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live."
4 But the LORD replied, "Have you any right to be angry?"
5 Jonah went out and sat down at a place east of the city. There he made himself a shelter, sat in its shade and waited to see what would happen to the city. 6 Then the LORD God provided a vine and made it grow up over Jonah to give shade for his head to ease his discomfort, and Jonah was very happy about the vine. 7 But at dawn the next day God provided a worm, which chewed the vine so that it withered. 8 When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah's head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die, and said, "It would be better for me to die than to live."
9 But God said to Jonah, "Do you have a right to be angry about the vine?"
"I do," he said. "I am angry enough to die." 10 But the LORD said, "You have been concerned about this vine, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. 11 But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?"
I was Jonah... why oh why can't I be pregnant? Why oh why can't this adoption process go faster? The Lord has been working in my heart about joining this church but I was being stubborn just like Jonah. So the Lord gave me a vine (our adoption process moving quickly) then the Lord gave me a worm (the adoption being delayed for 3 months because we haven't joined)
It’s amazing how he works and how he speaks to us in just the right time and sometimes with just the right volume!
Do you need our pastor to mail you anything to say that we have joined? Or do we just touch base in three months and you will evaluate us again at that time?
Thanks for contacting us
