So our Christmas was amazing! Right before Christmas we recieved an email that we had been matched with a social worker. So we waited for her to call us to set up the interview. Over Christmas, I had a dream that we had been matched with an adorable blonde hair/blue eyed baby boy. Then a couple of days later we recieved an email from our SW stating that she was ready to meet us. We recieved the email on 12/30/09 morning and on 12/31/09 afternoon we were conducting our 1st interview with our SW! Everything went well. It was more of a "do you have any questions?" type of interview and a getting to know our SW type of thing. She gave us more paperwork to fill out and our self study to fill out. The self study was 10 pages full of questions! We worked on it all weekend and emailed it back last night! Now we wait for our SW to set up our next interview. Which will take pretty much all day and it will be individual interviews reviewing our self studies. She said the more details we gave in our paper, the faster the interviews will go. So we both tried to give full descriptive answers. I'm hoping we can have the meeting on 1/22/10 because that is the last Friday before I start back to school. So one meeting down and two more to go! This next meeting is the only meeting in which we will have to travel to the agency which is 3 hours away. The third and final interview will be at our house!
So the planner in me is starting to get freaked out! I have this gut feeling (as well as my MIL) that by Christmas we will have a baby! The thing with this process is that we can be sitting at home and then in the next minute we can be getting in the car to go pick up our baby! It's SCARY! So we bought a pack n play this weekend as well as a glider and a diaper bag. Along with some newborn diapers, wipes, and bottles. We decided for each step of the process that we complete we will buy something. So once our home study is complete we are going to buy the carseat. With our tax refund we are going to buy the crib and dresser but we won't assemble. DH doesn't want to look at a room finished and I understand that. He also knows that once I get something in my head I have to finish it and buy everything that is needed. I just want to be prepared. The great news is that I am excited about this. I can now walk into baby departments and be excited about the whole process! I no longer avoid them like the plague. This is a HUGE improvement over the way I once was just a short amount of time ago. I can't wait to see what my first post in January 2011 will look like! We can't see what the Lord has in store for us in 2010!!!

How great Misty! It sounds like everything is moving along so perfectly! I am so happy for you.
I hope you don't mind...but I'd like to start following your blog. I love your idea of purchasing something for the baby after each process is complete-such a sweet idea!
It is so scary to think one day out of the blue, you/I could get the call...the one that says "come get your baby!" AAAAHHHH! :)
