Details...

Guess I never did get back to writing about the details huh? That's because I've been busy with life. I'm taking finals this week and I've been crazy busy with all of that. My daddy had surgery last week to remove his cancer, we found out a month before that he had cancer so that was a whirlwind! Thankfully they were able to remove all of it and he is now cancer free!!! We've also been busy with getting all of the paperwork together to send in.
We have filled out our formal application online and we are just waiting on our Ian's tb test results to send in. This first round of paperwork includes: copy of drivers license, copy of SS card, financial statements, references, and a copy of your physical along with test results from HIV, urine drug screen, and TB. We have everything ready to send in except Ian's TB test results, that will be completed on Friday. Then Friday afternoon, we will mail off our first round of paperwork!!! After that we wait to be paired with a soc.ial wor.ker. Then we will have our first meeting with her which is about 3 hours along. It's a getting to know you and to figure out if we both have adequately delt with our inf.ertility.
Then we have another round of paper work to send in. We are already working on this b/c one of the required pieces of information is a FBI fingerprint check. We went last week to have this done b/c after you are fingerprinted then you have to mail the fingerprints to the FBI and it takes 8-10 weeks to get the results back. Ian fingerprinted perfectly, I didn't. Because I wash my hands all the time, my fingers were cracked and we weren't able to get clear fingerprints. So I'm using Co.rn Hus.kers Lot.ion to help heal the cracks. I will go back in 2 weeks to try again. Then we will mail that off.
Then we have our 2nd meeting with our SW and this is also 3 hours along. It's broken down into 1 1/2 hours with each spouse. Then we have our 3rd meeting which is a visit to our home to make sure that it's safe for a baby to live in. Then we will be officially waiting parents! Then we wait to get to be picked by a bi.rthmom and then we get to bring home our baby!!!

The homes.tudy takes around 3 months to complete. And the average wait for a baby is 1-3 years!
I'm very excited!
